Our story

Where we have come from

The very first My Town Rocks website was Cheltenham Rocks which launched in July 2016. It was started by Laura Brookes, a Cheltenham mum-of-two, who struggled to find a place to look for things to do locally with her two young boys.

The website’s key function is an easy-to-browse directory of listings of attractions, events, day trips and classes that are suitable for families living in a particular area.

The goal is to help busy parents find things to do, suitable for them and their family, in just a few clicks. Helping to relieve boredom, ease stressful or lonely days, and give families with precious time off together the ideas or inspiration to get out and make the most of today.

The Cheltenham website has been extremely well received and become a huge success with users and advertisers. Recent launches have included Cirencester Rocks and Gloucester Rocks.

Where we are going

We’re growing the Rocks network of websites across the UK, inviting parents looking to run their own business to apply for a My Town Rocks franchise in their own town or city.
